Mobile Farmers Market returns for the 2022 season | News, Sports, Jobs

The 2022 Mobile Farmers Market season is underway, with community stops in Franklin County.

A program of the Joint Council for Economic Opportunity, the mobile market provides access to fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods and a salad bar. The market debuted in 2018 and has since expanded its stops and offerings. The Mobile Marketplace accepts Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits with the added bonus of the Double Up Food Bucks Program which doubles the amount of produce SNAP recipients can purchase. Customers can also use coupons for the farmers market. Products for the market are generated by greenhouses administered by JCEO’s foodservice program.

The Mobile Market stops Thursdays at DeChantal Apartments, 60 Church Street, Lake Saranac, from 10 a.m. to noon, and at the Adirondack Adult Center, 179 Demars Boulevard, Lake Tupper, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. The schedule is subject to currency. The market is made possible through support from Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, Cornell Cooperative Extension’s SHINE Program, CDPHP Insurance, Adirondack Health Institute, Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, and Heart Network’s Creating Healthy Schools & Communities Program .
