Spotlight on Saucon Valley Farmer’s Market Vendors

Based in Allentown with a location in South Bethlehem, Colony Meadery is a local brewer of honey-based alcoholic beverages that aren’t “from the hive,” as their website states. Available in a wide array of flavors, you can learn more about mead and what makes it so special — as well as tasty — at Colony Meadery’s Saucon Valley Farmer’s Market Stand.

Whether you’re a long-time mead drinker or just curious to learn more about the honey-based drink, you’ll enjoy a visit to the Colony mead stand at the weekly Saucon Valley Farmers Market.

Originating in ancient times, the drink that is enjoyed today in the form of mead has a fascinating history. Part of this history includes a remarkable resurgence of interest in it that has taken place in recent years, thanks in large part to craft producers like Colony Meadery.

At the Farmers Market Stand, Mead Staff, you’ll encounter an assortment of flavorful meads such as the tangy Wu-Tang Cran, Tea Tax (which is Colony’s version of the Arnold Palmer), and Rosé the Riveter – a dry mead made with hibiscus and rosehip.

After visiting Colony Meadery be sure to check it out as there is plenty more at the Farmers Market and the vendors will be well stocked with plenty of food and other items you will need for your picnic. July 4, including fresh produce, seasonal produce.

Live music at this Sunday’s Farmer’s Market will be performed by Arianne Rox and, speaking of fresh, seasonal produce, Sunday July 3 also marks the season premiere of Bechdolt’s Orchard stand at the market. Welcome to Bechdolt!

Stop by the information booth to buy SVFM branded clothing, enter the Tournesol contest (July 3 is the last day to enter), learn about volunteer opportunities and more.

The 2022 Saucon Valley Farmer’s Market is open every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine, until Sunday, November 20.

Visitors will find more than 30 vendors in two rows spread across the grounds adjacent to the Hellertown Area Library, located at 409 Constitution Ave., Hellertown, PA 18055. Free parking is available in the library parking lot as well as along Constitution Avenue. .
