Sprouts Farmers Market is coming to Coconut Grove – Trade Observer
Phoenix-based supermarket chain Cabbage growers market migrated east with a 24,014 square foot rental in Coconut Grove, Florida, the company announced on Wednesday.
The newest addition to the natural food grocer will be at central grovecurrently under construction at the intersection of US-1 and 27th Avenue near Coconut Grove Metrorail resort and with a bold 2023 opening.
Sprouts has three other locations slated to open in Florida in the coming months. The first, to 12690 SW 88th Street in Miami, will mark South Florida’s first outpost when it opens this week.
The second store, 1759 NW Sainte-Lucie Boulevard West in Port St. Lucie, is set to open March 25, and the third has an April 1 opening in 2631 NE 10th Yard in Homestead.
Rod Castan of The Courtélis company represented the developers, Earth and Grass River Propertyin the transaction, while Central line real estate represented Sprouts Farmers Market. The brokerages and Sprouts did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Coconut Grove’s accessibility to public transit has made Grove Central a key selling point for developers, according to the release.
“The addition of Sprouts to this location – at the crossroads of Coconut Grove and Coral Gables along one of South Florida’s busiest commuter roads – is not just a benefit for residents who will live in Grove Central, but also for those who live in surrounding neighborhoods all along the Metrorail transit line from South Miami to Brickell,” Pierre LaPointepresident of Grass River Property, said in a statement.
Miami-based developers plan for Grove Central to have a 23-story residential tower with 402 homes, a new 1,250-space public parking lot and approximately 170,000 square feet of retail space with tenants, including Target and Total wine and more.
The location of the development will allow buyers and residents access to Coconut Grove Metro Station, The Emphasize park, the Miami-Dade bus system as well as the Miami city streetcar system.
A publicly traded company, Sprouts has more than 380 locations nationwide, with the majority located in Arizona and California.
