West Seattle Blog… | The last day of Summer Fest, the Farmers Market moved, more for your West Seattle Sunday

The last day of return from West Seattle Summer Festival — and the one-day Farmer’s Market relocation — start our Sunday list:

It was a fun festival; our Saturday coverage is here and here, and our Friday coverage is here and here. Today’s festival hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; we’ll be back on the north side of the Info Booth (California/Alaska), where you can also shop for Summer Fest t-shirts, get and return your Whale Trail maps, and solve problems ranging from first aid needs to LOST AND OBJECT . Other Summer Festival Bases:

Vendor booths: On California between Oregon and Edmunds
Sidewalk Sale: Outside many year-round Junction stores, including some on 42nd, 44th, Oregon
Music: None today, one change this year
Children’s area: SW Alaska to Western California (free games, plus 5 inflatables accessible for $20 per day)
Food: SW Alaska to Eastern California (plus year-round restaurants/bars, some of which have added sidewalk cafes)
Whale Trail activity for children: Obtain and return your card at the information kiosk – see also the Springers presentation at the Center for the elderly (4217 SW Oregon) at 3 p.m.
Bus diversions: Follow this link to see route-by-route information on where the stops have moved until the streets reopen on Sunday evening

Because of the party…

WEST SEATTLE FARMERS MARKET: 10:00am-2:00pm, the market runs at its usual time, but at a DIFFERENT location for today only – one block north of where you usually find it – north of Southwest Oregon. First time here – years past have moved the market elsewhere for the day.

QUEUES FOR AN AMAZING ANNIVERSARY SALE: On the last of the three days, you can shop the First Anniversary Sale at the West Seattle Comic & Toy Store (4850 California SW; sponsor WSB). Open today 9am-2pm – just south of The Junction so you can visit on your way to Summer Fest.

WHITE CENTER LIBRARY GUILD SIDEWALK SALE: 11am-4pm, at white center library (1409 SW 107e): Second and last day for this sale featuring books and “lightly used household treasures”.

LINCOLN PARK POOL: If the city opens wading pools today, the only one open in West Seattle will be the upper-central one Lincoln Park (8011 Fauntleroy Way SW), noon to 7 p.m.

COLMAN POOL: The outdoor swimming pool Lincoln Park shore (8011 Fauntleroy Way SW) is open to the public again, from noon to 7 p.m.

COLMAN POOL RENOVATION MEETING: Swimming or not, you are invited to visit the swimming pool from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. to learn about a future renovation project. As noted here, Parks says work isn’t expected to start until 2024.

WOODEN HOUSE MUSEUM: The Seattle Southwest Historical Society museum on Alki, and you can visit noon-4pm, (61st/Stevens)

ALKI POINT LIGHTHOUSE: Weekly visits are back, as shown here. First visit at 1 p.m., last at 3:45 p.m.; Here’s how it works.

LOW TIDE: At -1.5 feet at 2:19 p.m., which isn’t very low, but Seattle Aquarium the beach naturalists will be out today, from 1:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Lincoln Park (they canceled Constellation Park due to ongoing pollution issues).

SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK X 2: 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Lincoln Park (8011 Fauntleroy Way SW), GreenStage presents a “Pericles“morning and”Henry V» evening show. Free!

LIVE MUSIC AT C&P COFFEE: 3-5 p.m., wanderers of paradise play country/honkytonk music at C&P Coffee Company (5612 California SW; WSB sponsor).

BACHATA AND SALSA ON ALKI: Wear all white. Classes at 4:30 p.m., dancing until 9:30 p.m. Info here.

NEED FOOD? White Center Community Dinner Church serves a free meal (to go) at 5 p.m. on Sundays at Salvation Army Center in South Delridge (9050 16th SW).
